Seven reasons to try CrossFit

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you have been umm-ing and ah-ing about whether you should give CrossFit a go, you wouldn’t be the first person to do so! You may have heard about how amazing it is and how quickly people achieve results but also been told stories about how you won’t be able to walk for days after a workout.

Here’s the truth: if you come with an open mind and a willingness to learn, you will LOVE CrossFit.

Not convinced? Check out these seven reasons why CrossFit is definitely for you:

  1. Get a plan that’s specific for you

At Whole Strength we don’t just put people through a cookie cutter process. We take the time to get to know each and every member and make a plan that fits their lifestyle and goals. We use some unique tools to measure your current fitness level and to measure progress on a regular basis.

  1. You have tried losing weight and failed before

How many gym memberships have you had in the past? For a lot of people, the gym doesn’t work because it is lacking what is really needed to make lasting progress.  Never before in our culture have we had so much access to fitness equipment. So why are we not healthier? Because most people don’t need more access. They need more direction and accountability.

  1. You’ll make friends

Speaking of accountability…. One of the best ways to achieve success in ANY domain of life is to surround yourself with people who want to accomplish the same things you do. In the early days of CrossFit, the training regime was popular with ex-military personnel, who were drawn to the army-style workout sessions. The other thing which reflects the military is the ‘teamwork’ attitude. At Whole Strength you will find a supportive community where you’ll get a boost from your fellow athletes every time you work out. It’s all about keeping each other motivated and inspired.

  1. Progress makes perfect

As coaches we encourage you to track your results from every session. You may start off by lifting a pvc, but write it down. Within a couple of months, you’ll be able to look back and see the measurable difference in your progress. Instead of jumping on the scale every morning, keep an eye on your CrossFit numbers. These will reveal how far you have come. You can set goals for yourself, work towards them and tick them off with a big reward.

  1. You’ll lose weight

Beyond the camaraderie, most people take up CrossFit so they can trim a few pounds. If you commit to at least three workouts a week and work on developing good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle outside of your sessions, you’ll definitely see a change in your body composition. It won’t necessarily happen overnight but pretty soon people will start asking you what’s different (what a great feeling!).

  1. You’ll feel better

Want to sleep more soundly and bounce out of bed in the mornings? CrossFit can make it happen! It has been proven time and time again that sticking to an exercise regime makes you feel better in more ways than one. As well as looking great, you’ll have a smile on your face because you’re constantly producing happiness-inducing endorphins and you’re proud of what you have achieved. Plus you’ll have lower blood pressure and less concern about your long-term health.

  1. You never know until you try

Many of the world’s top CrossFitters look back on the day when they decided to “just give it a go”. Before long, they had changed their entire lives. Who knows? You could one day see yourself competing at the top level. But even if you don’t, training your mind and body like an athlete will produce results.  Chances are, after trying CrossFit the only thing you’ll wonder is why you didn’t do it sooner. Get started and you’ll be hooked in no time!
